Sony’s new professional camcorders raise the bar for performance standards. Two additions to our NXCAM family of professional video products deliver unprecedented capabilities. These new camcorders join Sony’s existing NXCAM model HXR-NX5U to deliver an impressive range of options, creativity, and flexibility for production professionals. Each is high in performance covering a range of applications, including commercial video and music video, and affordable production. The NEX-FS100U Super 35mm camcorder is equipped with an Exmor™ Super 35 CMOS sensor. This large-format sensor’s high sensitivity enables it to produce footage with shallow depth of field, similar to that of a film camera. The sensor is the same as the one used on our PMW-F3 camera. Its main unit has been proven to reach dust-proof and rain-proof requirements specified by IEC60529 IP54. So sudden rain or dust on outdoor shoots won’t affect the camcorder’s operation, allowing it to perform in even the most challenging shooting environments. This ultra-compact HD camcorder also incorporates an Exmor R CMOS sensor for superior quality, low-light footage and enhanced manual controls, for the precision that pro shooters depend on when capturing highquality HD content.
